Phototherapy

Skin conditions such as porasis and eczema can be successfully treated with phototherapy. This treatment is a form of ultraviolet therapy involving the use of florescent lamps within a phototherapy cubicle with a narrow and precise band of wavelengths and has been demonstrated to be beneficial for the treatment of a variety of skin conditions.

Phototherapy can only be performed after referral from a Consultant Dermatologist

Phototherapy, specifically referred to a narrowband UVB/TL-01 involves attendance three times weekly, Monday, Wednesday and Friday over a period of on average 6 weeks. It is important that patients attend regularly because missed treatments disrupt the course of treatment which can lessen patients response. The treatment times will vary from seconds to minutes dependent on the output from the machine.
