Jean graduated from Coventry University with an honours degree in Physiotherapy. She completed her rotational experience and later continued in a senior role specialising in neuromusculoskeletal physiotherapy. Jean has extensive experience working in both the National Health Service and the private setting including BUPA Hospital Leicester and Sport Injury Clinics. Jean later worked for six years in a senior role in a NHS Winchester, Hampshire, UK setting up and running a staff rapid access service and back triage service. Jean has also worked as a lecturer in Southhampton University and currently supervises UCD Msc students. Jean has worked with the Leicester Rugby and football teams. In 2006, Jean completed a Higher diploma in Manual Therapy an dwas awarded a student research award by the Manipulation Association of Chartered Physiotherapists.
Jeans' area of interest is the lumbopelvic region and she is currently undertaking research in this area as part of an Msc in Physiotherapy. Jean is trained in the use of Realtime Ultrasound imaging as a biofeedback tool in the management of spinal and lumbopelvic pain. Jean has been a member of the Blackrock Clinic Physiotherapy team for 4 years.
Rhona Synnott Bsc (HONS) MISCP MMACP Chartered Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist Senior Physiotherapist
Rhona graduated with Honours from King's College London in 1999. Following graduation, Rhona gained a wide range of experience working at the Mater Misericordae Hospital in Dublin. This was followed by eight years working in London. Rhona specialises in neuro-musculoskeletal physiotherapy and has gained much experience in this field including running a private Sports Injury Clinic, managing a busy Hydrotherapy facility, Physiotherapist for the Laban Dance College and a senior staff member at a large London teaching hospital, the Chelsea and Westminister Hospital. Rhona's particular areas of interest are sports injuries and spinal pain. Rhona is also qualified in Acupuncture for pain relief. Rhona has been a member of the Blackrock Clinic Physiotherapy team for two years.
Aileen Kelly Msc MMACP MISCP Chartered Physiotherapist Senior Physiotherapist
Aileen qualified with BSc Hons Degree in Physiotherapy from the Univeristy of Ulster in Belfast. She gained five years wide experience in the National Health Service in London. After completing a Postgraduate diploma in Sports Physiotherapy she set up and provided the Physiotherapy Service for Richmond Rugby Football Club for three years. She subsequently became Head Physiotherapist to the Royal Ballet Company where she worked for seven years developing all aspects of medical care for professional dancers. Aileen completed a Masters in Manipulative Therapy at Coventry University in 1998 and returned to th NHS to work as an extended scope practitioner in orthopaedics. She has worked in private practice in both the UK and Ireland. She joined the Blackrock Clinic when she moved to Ireland in 2007. Her specialsit areas are sports injuries and the performing arts. She has clinical experience and an academic interest in neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy.
Fran Curtis MSCP MISCP Senior Physiotherapist
Fran qualified in 1975 from Woolmanhill School of Physiotherapy, Aberdeen in Scotland. After qualifying she worked in the core rotational areas of Physiotherapy in the UK, South Africa and Zimbabwe before running an orthopaedic clinic for two Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeons. She then moved and successfully ran her own private practice for eight years. Since Fran moved to Ireland in 2002, she has been working in Blackrock Clinic. She has extensive experience in neuromusculoskeletal Physiotherapy, spinal conditions and post surgical rehabilitation. Her specialist interests is in Chronic Pain and she is qualified in Acupuncture and Dry Needling.
Joanne White MISCP Senior Physiotherapist
Joanne is a Chartered Senior Physiotherapist employed by the Blackrock Clinic since 2001. Joanne graduated in 1997 from the University of Manchester with a BSc (Honours) in Physiotherapy. Prior to moving to Ireland, Joanne has worked in the U.K., Australia & New Zealand gaining much clinical experience. Joanne's specialist field is Musculoskeletal Physiotherapy where her experience is in the assessment & management of musculoskeletal & orthopaedic outpatients. Joanne's interest and working pracitce also involves patient manual handling training and ergonomic management within the workplace.
Adrienne O Sullivan MISCP Senior Physiotherapist
Adrienne works as a senior Physiotherapist in the Outpatient departement in the Blackrock Clinic specialising in Health Management. Adrienne qualified from Trinity College Dublin in 1972. Her initial experience has been varied working in different hospitals throughout the country. Adrienne joined a private practice, Blair and Rooney, in 1985 and developed this work by completing a diploma in the British College of Acupuncture in 1988. Adrienne joined the Blackrock Clinic Physiotherapy team seventeen years ago with extensive musculoskeletal and orthopaedic experience. Adrienne's main area of interest is in the holistic approach to the long term prevention, care and management of illness and chronic conditions. In 2007 a diploma in Personal and Executive coaching was awarded to her. The health management service compliments all aspects of healthcare;

Sinead Lennon
Sinead Lennon qualified from RSCI in 2000 with an honours degree in Physiotherapy. Her expertise in Women's Health arose from working closely with the Obstetric and Gynaecology team at Mayo General Hospital in Castlebar. She expanded the Women's Health service there educating women to control continence problems with pelvic floor muscle rehabilitation. She has lectured public health nurses and GP's on pelvic floor muscle exercise and has a keen interest in public health promotion. She has taught ante and post natal classes and has treated many women with pelvic girdle pain previously known as symphysis pubis dusfunction. Sinead joined the team at Blackrock Clinic in January 2009 expanding the womens' health service and providing phyiotherapy treatment for obstetric and gynaecological patients.
Emer Kinsella
Emer graduated from Trinity College Dublin with an honours degree in Physiotherapy in 1993. After working for a number of years in the USA specilaising in sports therapy and neuromuscular rehabilitation, Emer completed her rotational experience in St James's Hospital Dublin. Emer then worked as a senior physiotherapist in an orthopaedic hospital in Sydney, Australia for a year before joining the team in Connolly hospital, Blanchardstown fro 7 years. In Connolly hospital, Emer worked as the Senior Orthopaedic Physiotherapist specialising in the treatment of trauma and fractures. She established a hand therapy service within the physiotherapy department.
Emer's areas of speciality include the treatment of upper and lower limb fractures, sports and soft tissue injuries, orthotic prescription and hand therapy. Emer is alos involved in patient manual handling training and ergonomics management within the workplace. Emer joined the staff of Blackrock Clinic in 2008.
