The Service
Who is this for?
This Cardiac specialist assessment for patients complaining of:
- Chest Pain
- Palpitations
- Shortness of Breath (suspected cardiac related)
What to Expect
A member of the Cardiac Assessment team will carry out a preliminary assessment, which will include:
- History and physical examination
- ECG
Further cardiac diagnostic tests may be arranged, specific to the patient’s clinical requirements. Further tests may include:
- Echocardiogram
- Stress Test
- Holter monitoring
- BP monitoring
- Cardiac CT*
- Cardiac MRI*
Cardiologist review and plan of care:
A cardiologist will review and consult with the patient. Plan of care may include:
- Admission to the hospital
- Referral for interventional procedures
- Follow-up appointment with the consultant in an out-patient setting
Should cardiac issues be ruled out, the non-cardiac causes of the symptoms will also be assessed.
Cost of service:
- Initial cardiac assessment & ECG €200
- Charge capped at €595*
