Professional Profile

Graduate of NUI Galway 1982.  Diplomas in Family Planning and Obstetrics.  Membership of Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists awarded in 1988.  Seven years of professional training in Nottingham and Birmingham, UK.  Assistant Master and Senior Registrar training in Dublin from 1993 and subsequently did a fellowship in Reproductive Medicine in Bristol, UK in 1996.  Appointed consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology to Lagan Valley Hospital, Lisburn, Northern Ireland in 1999.  Returned to Dublin 2002 and worked as consultant in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Coombe University Women’s Hospital and St James’s Hospital until 2006 and subsequently in private practice at Mount Carmel Hospital.

Vaginal Surgery;  pelvic pain;  reproductive endocrinology (PCOS, Menopause);  colposcopy

Research Interests

Premature Ovarian Failure;  menopause;  pelvic pain
