Professional Profile

Dr Kindler studied medicine at Hanover Medical School, Germany. After qualifying he worked in northern England and in London before entering Specialist Training in Cardiology in the London Deanery. He worked at the Royal Brompton, Guy’s & St Thomas’ and King’s College Hospital as well as the Heart Hospital London and dedicated three years at Imperial College London as a full time research fellow funded by the Medical Research Council studying blood flow in different cardiac conditions with Positron Emission Tomography. He was Lead Fellow at the CMR Unit of the Royal Brompton Hospital. He gained extensive experience in a variety of cardiac conditions. His areas of interest include Coronary angiography, Heart Failure, advanced cardiovascular imaging, 3D Echocardiography, Transoesophageal Echocardiography, Cardiovascular MRI and Cardiac CT.  He has an interest in the investigation and treatment of palpitations, dizzy spells and high blood pressure and the identification and prevention of stroke and heart rhythm abnormalities.

Research Interests

Assessment of coronary artery blood flow and scar assessment using MRI and CT, Heart muscle diseases, genetic factors that involve heart muscle strength and blood flow. Myocardial scar and fibrosis assessment.
