Professional Profile
Dr Linnane graduated from University College Dublin in 1992. He completed his general professional training in Ireland and Boston before embarking on two years of research at the Lung Fibrosis Unit, University College Dublin. He then completed his Specialist registrar training in General Medicine and Respiratory Medicine in the UK. He was appointed a Consultant Respiratory and General Physician at LLandough University Hospital, Cardiff in 2002. In Cardiff he lead the Respiratory Department and ran a busy respiratory team with a special interest in lung cancer while also undertaking acute unselected medical call. Dr Linnane has an interest in diagnostic and therapeutic bronchoscopy. His clinical interests include Chronic cough, Breathlessness, COPD, Asthma, Bronchiectasis, Lung Cancer, Interstitial Lung Disease as well as general medical presentations.

Research Interests
Dr Linnane’s research interests include breathlessness, lung cancer and venous thromboembolism. He is a co-investigator in the FRAGMATIC Trial.
