Professional Profile

Dr Lyne graduated from Cambridge University in 1998.  His specialty training and research in Cardiology, Electrophysiology, Devices and Cardiac Magnetic Resonance was undertaken at the largest specialist Heart and Lung Hospitals in Europe.  He has also visited a number of centres in Europe to train alongside colleagues.

In 2010 he was appointed as a locum Consultant Cardiologist at the Royal Brompton Hospital before transferring to the Mater Private Hospital, Dublin in 2011.  He has since moved to establish his private practice at the Blackrock Clinic.

Dr Lyne is a specialist in the assessment, diagnosis and treatment of disorders related to cardiac rhythm.  This includes using the very latest diagnostic techniques and procedures including cardiac ablation.  He is also fully trained in the insertion and management of cardiac devices, including ICD’s, pacemakers, extraction, device optimisation and upgrades.

Palpitations / Cardiac rhythm disturbance, Atrial and ventricular arrhythmia including atrial fibrillation, Collapse / Fainting, Cardiac risk or family history of cardiac disease / Sudden death, Implantable devices (Pacemakers, Defibrillators, Heart failure devices).

Research Interests

Cardiac rhythm abnormalities – diagnosis and treatment including mapping and ablation techniques.
