Personal Profile

Dr McCreery graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in 1986 and first trained in Internal Medicine and became a Member of The Royal College of Physicians in Ireland (MRCPI). She then did an Ophthalmology Residency in The Royal Victoria Eye and Ear Hospital, Dublin and in Baylor College of Medicine, Houston, Texas, USA.

Dr McCreery attained the degrees FRCSI (Fellow of the Royal College of Surgeons in Ophthalmic Surgery), FRCOphth (Fellow of the Royal College of Ophthalmologists UK) and also became Board Certified in Ophthalmology, the qualifying exam of the American Board of Ophthalmology. She did a fellowship in Paediatric Ophthalmology and Strabismus at The University of Pittsburgh/ Childrens Hospital of Pittsburgh, Pittsburgh, USA.

Following her training she was a Consultant Ophthalmologist/Assistant Professor at Baylor College of Medicine/Texas Childrens Hospital for three years prior to her return to Dublin in 2002. She is now a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon at Our Lady’s Hospital for Sick Children, Crumlin and at Blackrock Clinic, Dublin. Dr McCreery has been a Consultant Ophthalmic Surgeon for 12 years. Her areas of interest are refractive/cataract surgery and paediatric ophthalmology and strabismus. She is married with three children.
