Professional Profile

Mr Molony is a graduate of University College Dublin and also has a Masters in Surgery from that institution.  He completed  his higher surgical training in Orthopaedic Surgery in Ireland in 2010.  He underwent overseas fellowship training in Shoulder and Elbow Surgery at the University of Sydney, Royal North Shore hospital, Sydney, Australia; University of Central Otago Hospital, Christchurch New Zealand; The Hand and Upper limb centre, London Ontario and The Mayo Clinic Rochester, Minnesota USA.  His Practice is focused on Shoulder and Elbow Surgery including both Traumatic and degenerative conditions.

Initially Appointed to Waterford University Hospital in 2011, Mr Molony has been in Practice in Tallaght Hospital since 2014 and is now chair of the department of Orthopaedic Surgery in the hospital.  Mr Molony is extensively published and has ongoing research interests in shoulder and elbow conditions.  He acts on international faculty for shoulder arthroplasty, trauma and anatomical approach educational meetings.  He is actively involved in Higher Surgical education in trauma and Orthopaedic surgery in Ireland.   He is a founding member of the Irish Shoulder and Elbow Society.

Mr Molony is a keen sportsman and has particular interests in Rugby, Skiing and Horse racing. He is married with two children.
