Dr Purcell graduated from the Royal College of Surgeons in 2002, and later moved to Boston where she spent 5 years in Tufts Medical Centre completing training as a Pulmonary (Respiratory), Critical Care (ICU) and Sleep Medicine specialist.

She pursued further training in Sleep Medicine at Dartmouth College; a world-renowned ivy-league institution; completing a fellowship in Adult and Paediatric Sleep Disorders Medicine. Dr. Purcell is now board-certified in Sleep Medicine, Pulmonary, Critical Care and Internal Medicine with the American Board of Internal Medicine.

Dr. Purcell treats all manner of sleep problems including snoring, sleep apnoea, problems of excessive sleepiness (including narcolepsy), Restless Leg Syndrome and unusual night time behaviours which interfere with sleep, such as sleepwalking, and sleep-related violence.
