In response to the escalating COVID-19 pandemic, from Monday 16th March, for the safety of our patients and staff the Emergency Department is no longer providing a walk-in service.
The Department is now open 10am – 4pm, 7 days per week, by appointment. This service is suitable for patients with:
- minor injuries
- atraumatic limb pain
- head injuries
- musculoskeletal back pain
- minor skin infections including abscesses
- isolated headache otherwise well
- haematuria (mild to moderate)
- Post menopausal bleeding (mild to moderate)
- Soft tissue foreign bodies
- INR checks
If you wish to attend the Emergency Department please phone 1800 283 999 in advance to speak to a member of our medical team. You will be allocated the next available appointment time, however urgent cases will be prioritised and will be seen as soon as possible.
The introduction of these changes will ensure that upon your arrival at the Emergency Department you will be attended to immediately. This will minimise your stay in the Department and will limit your interaction with other patients and staff, thereby respecting social distancing as much as possible. This is the best way to keep you safe.
We apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.
