Katie McGuire graduated with a BSc (Hons) in Physiotherapy from University College Dublin in 2006. She is a CORU registered physiotherapist and a member of the Irish Society of Chartered Physiotherapists (ISCP) and America Society of Hand Therapists (ASHT).
While working in St. Vincent’s University Hospital she gained her experience and developed her passion for hand therapy and rehabilitation of the upper limb. She was fortunate to work both in orthopaedic and plastic outpatient services which exposed her to a multitude of both traumatic and chronic hand and upper limb conditions. She has a particular interest in postoperative rehabilitation and treatment of injuries to the wrist and hand as well as chronic conditions such as arthritis of the hand.
She has completed numerous accredited courses in the treatment of upper limb conditions and in 2020 Katie successfully passed her Certified Hand Therapy Exam which is a comprehensive test of advanced clinical skills and theory in upper limb rehabilitation.
