David Egan – Respiratory Clinical Specialist. Chartered Physiotherapist at BSc level and completed his MSc (post-grad) in Respiratory in 2022. David has 14 years of respiratory experience. His first seven years involved working in Southampton General Hospital, UK. Here he assessed and treated patients in their acute and chronic phases of their respiratory conditions. This role involved working across wards, high dependency and intensive care settings in a variety of departments such as medical, surgical, cardiothoracic and pediatrics.

David has worked in Blackrock Clinic since 2015 during which time he initiated and developed the ‘Early Mobilisiation’ programme in ICU. He has extended and progressed the Respiratory Outpatient Clinic. His outpatient clinic involves assisting people with respiratory conditions to help them achieve a better quality of life by educating and treating their conditions. Conditions treated include COPD, Bronchiectasis, Asthma and Pulmonary Fibrosis all in conjunction with the patient’s Respiratory Consultants. A large component of treating respiratory conditions involves the improvement in function, fitness and strength which are treated by individual exercise programmes or group sessions.
