At the very outset, Blackrock Clinic was known for its expertise in cardiac procedures and high tech surgeries.  Today, over 25 years later, Blackrock Clinic is still at the forefront of the latest techniques, procedures and technologies when it comes to cardiology.

Some of the newest procedures have been performed in Ireland for the first time by Blackrock Clinic Consultant Cardiologists.  For example, in summer 2011, the first ever keyhole heart valve replacement surgery was performed in our hospital.

Our consultants are very focused on international best practice and developments in procedures and technologies which make their work safer, more efficient and improve recovery time for patients.

Patients also find the outpatient services offered at Blackrock Clinic very valuable.  We have a number of screening and diagnostic facilities, which, in conjunction with the Blackrock Clinic Emergency Department, mean that patients with cardiac concerns can receive urgent diagnosis, treatment and care.

All cardiology procedures require a referral letter from a general practitioner or consultant.
