If you are eligible and referred into Blackrock Clinic’s Direct Access Endoscopy services, you will not require a consultation prior to your scope procedure. Your endoscopy will be performed and reported upon by one of the Gastroenterology Consultants in our Direct Access team.

Patients over the age of 75, or with clinical reasons to preclude them from the Direct Access pathway (such as a significant cardiac history, or diabetic patients on Insulin therapy), would be referred into a consultant practice for consultation.
