Orthopaedic Trauma in Blackrock Clinic
Orthopaedic trauma can be life threatening and also impinge severely on short and long term mobility for the patient. It is imperative that when a patient presents at hospital with orthopaedic trauma they are quickly assessed and a treatment plan developed. The treatment of Orthopaedic Trauma in Blackrock Clinic is managed by consultant led teams and often requires surgery.
Types of Trauma
Orthopaedic Trauma can include:
- Fractures;
- Sports Injuries;
- Wounds;
- Sprains;
- Falls, along with many more accidental events.
Emergency Department 
Blackrock Clinic’s Emergency Department is open seven days a week. It is a one stop medical service with direct access to the hospital’s renowned consultants, including the Orthopaedic team. The consultant trauma surgeon on call will attend to the trauma patient and devise a treatment plan, admitting the patient if necessary.
