Sclerotherapy
Sclerotherapy is usually suitable for people who have small to medium sized varicose veins and involves an injection of solution directly into the vein. The solution irritates the lining of the vessel, causing it to scar and seal. Over time, the scar tissue fades from view. The procedure is simple and usually carried out under local anaesthetic. Again, this procedure is covered by health insurance, depending on the type of policy a patient holds.
